Dr. Luis Melgar
Internal Medicine
Allergist & Immunologist
Luis Melgar, MD was born in El Paso, TX. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1983 with a degree in Bachelor of Science. He graduated Medical School from Universidad Autonoma De Guadalajara in 1988 and he completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Mt. Vernon Hospital, NY in 1992. Dr. Melgar completed his Fellowship in Asthma, Allergy and Immunology at the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1995.
Dr. Melgar started in private practice with Medical Associates Southtowns, a multi-specialty group from 1995-1998. He founded Southtowns Asthma & Allergy Center in 1998. Over the past numerous years, Dr Melgar has become the premier Asthma, Allergy & Immunology specialist in the Southtowns. In 2006 he was elected President of Buffalo Asthma and Allergy Society. He served two terms, during his presidency he was able to make significant educational strides on the behalf of local allergists.
Dr. Melgar started flying airplanes at age 13 and soloed at 14 years old. He received a private pilot license at 17 years old. Now he is a Radio Control Model Airplane Enthusiast.
While traveling or not at work, Dr. Melgar enjoys the company of his beautiful wife and best friend Melissa. Dr. Melgar has two very lovely daughters Niyla and Elaina. He is very proud of them both and loves them very much.

Beverly Ring, LPN
Beverly graduated from the LPN Program at Cattaraugus-Allegany BOCES in Olean NY in 2007, and she started working at the practice in April 2017. Beverly has experience in geriatric and rehab care as a charge nurse. She and her husband enjoy spending time with family and friends as well at watching the Buffalo Bills.
Bonita Heltz, LPN
Bonita is our "office tomboy!" A 1991 graduate of Erie One Boces.
She enjoys spending her free time with her loving husband, in the outdoors, boating & fishing and cheering on the New York Yankees!
Michele Hagelberger
Receptionist
Michele is a graduate of Genesee Community College. She has been working in the medical field for twenty years. In her free time she enjoys gardening, reading, spending time with her friends and family and watching the Buffalo Bills!!
